LIFF

LIFF is a multifaceted, 11-day film festival that offers a stage to independent films, emerging filmmakers and daring specials. As an organization, we strive to offer unique experiences, such as film screenings in unique locations like swimming pools or public squares. With a team of about forty dedicated crew members and the support of 170 enthusiastic volunteers, we work together to make the festival a great success. Diversity, inclusion and personal development are central to our organization.

The role

As a Youth Jury Coordinator at the Leiden International Film Festival, you’ll take on the exciting task of recruiting and selecting passionate young film enthusiasts aged 15–25 to form our international Youth Jury. You’ll organize inspiring workshops designed to sharpen their critical thinking about cinema, preparing them for their role as jurors. Together with the Youth Jury, you’ll watch the specially curated film selection at LIFF and lead discussions to help them decide on the best film!

To ensure a smooth experience for the Youth Jury, we ask that you are available on October 4, 5, 11, and 12, 2025, for the workshops and festival weekend. These are key moments where you’ll guide the jury through their journey and facilitate discussions.

The role requires flexible availability, with the workload varying depending on the festival phase. From April to September, you’ll spend an average of two hours every other week preparing for the festival, including attending in-person meetings in Leiden.

Between August and September, the time commitment increases as you help organize workshops and recruit participants. During the festival and the weekend before, full availability is required, including weekday availability for on-site support and any last-minute arrangements.

No specific field of study or professional background is required – anyone with a passion for film and festivals is welcome to apply! Additionally, you’ll receive a ticket for our Opening Gala, including a +1.

Interested?

We’d love to hear from you! Please share your motivation with [email protected] before April 7.
