Description
Twenty years ago, a teacher (Julianne Moore) got involved in a controversial relationship with her thirteen-year-old student (Charles Melton). Despite the criticisms and the publicity, they are still together, and their story is even being made into a film. The curious, and perhaps a bit too nosy lead actress (Natalie Portman) visits them to research her role, putting pressure and strain on the relationship. Todd Haynes (Carol) creates a fresh and uncomfortable look at relationships and maturity, which is balanced nicely with humor and intrigue.
