Description
Lawrence, a 17-year-old cinephile, gets a part-time job at a video store to earn the money he needs to attend film school at NYU. This turns out to be trickier than expected when Lawrence forms a complicated relationship with the older store manager who takes him under her wing. I Like Movies takes you back to 2003, when video stores still existed and no one had heard of streaming services yet. Canadian writer and director Chandler Levack has made a promising feature-debut with this film, which premiered at TIFF. A relatable comedy for every young cinephile and every cinephile who’s ever been young!
