Description
A special premiere: Japanese composer Eiko Ishibashi (from the Oscar-nominated score of Drive My Car) is coming to LIFF to perform her new score for Gift (Ryûsuke Hamaguchi), which is a special film anyway as an alternative cut of Hamaguchi’s Evil Does Not Exist. The film tells the story of Takumi and Hana: a father and daughter who live in a small village in the wilderness around Tokyo. The discovery that project developers intend to build a ‘glamping’ near their house heavily impacts both the village as a whole, and Takumi and Hana personally.
