Description
This impressive black-and-white movie tells the story of twenty-something Donya. Donya lives in Fremont, California, where she works at the local fortune cookie factory. While her past as an Afghan translator for the US military leads to sleepless nights, Donya tries to put the pieces of her life together. Her daily routine suddenly changes when Donya is promoted to writer of the spells in the fortune cookies, and she decides to send a special message into the world. As a fortune cookie would put it: ‘Actions speak louder than words.’ Director Babak Jalali will be present during the festival.
