Description
After the death of her mother, Alysia moves to the famous Haight-Ashbury district in San Francisco with her dad, writer Steve Abbott (Scoot McNairy), where he begins to lead an openly queer life in the 1970s. The 1980s bring drastic changes to the lives of father and daughter: Alysia grows up and starts to question her dad’s lifestyle; Ronald Reagan gets elected; and the first rumors about AIDS are circulating. Photographer Andrew Durham’s impressive directorial debut is based on the memoirs of Alysia Abbott about her father’s life, making this a deeply personal film. And Durham will be present at LIFF!
