The Leiden International Film Festival (LIFF) values your privacy. LIFF will not collect any personal information about you during your visit to our website unless you give us permission.
Use of the personal data you provide
LIFF collects personal data only if you have chosen to do so yourself. LIFF processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide us with these data yourself.
LIFF processes your personal data for the following purposes:
– Handling your payment
– Sending our newsletter
– Delivering goods and services to you
LIFF may decide to retain and provide certain data if this is necessary to protect the rights of LIFF or third parties. In other cases, LIFF will not provide your personal data to third parties without permission, unless we are required to do so by law.
Vacancies
Data that LIFF receives through (open) applications are only used to enable the application process to run smoothly. If there is a need to keep the data longer for future vacancies, permission for this will always be requested.
Newsletter
On the website, you can subscribe to the newsletter. We only use this data to deliver the newsletters correctly. Every newsletter of LIFF offers the possibility to unsubscribe.
Storage period personal data
LIFF does not store your personal data any longer than is strictly necessary in order to realize the purposes for which your personal data are being collected. We apply a retention period of 26 months for NAW data, location data and website activity.
Data processing
LIFF takes the protection of your data seriously and takes appropriate measures to prevent misuse, loss, unauthorised access, unwanted disclosure and unauthorised modification. If you feel that your data are not properly protected or there are indications of abuse, please contact us via [email protected].
Sharing personal data with third parties
LIFF will not sell your data to third parties, and only provide these data in case this would be necessary in order to carry out our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation. With companies processing your data commissioned by us, we close a data processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. The StArt Foundation remains responsible for this data processing.

The pages of the LIFF website offer the possibility of clicking through to the websites of other companies. LIFF bears no responsibility with respect to the handling of personal data by parties of those other websites. LIFF, therefore, advises you to read the policy or statement on the operation and protection of personal data of these non-LIFF sites carefully, because the conditions on those sites may differ from the conditions LIFF applies.
